Cheap travel tips for Japan
Submitted by Gump on 2009-03-23 04:55:58 (via www.essortment.com)
Japan is a notoriously expensive country to visit, and this reputation is not totally unwarranted. Everyone has heard horror tales about the $50 glass of beer and the $100 steak. However, you can avoid these and other pitfalls and at the same time see more of Japan "on the cheap" than you would if you spent a small fortune.

Turn of summer and autumn. It is not hot, and not cold. The autumn tint( change leaf) cannot be seen yet. Season when food is delicious. I think, its good season of travel.

it can be very warm, but not as humid and hot as summer time. i recommend you to take a light sweater. it can be chilly too, and off course it gets chilly after the sun goes down. also, forecaster says that we have more rain (quiet, long-lasting rain) at fall.

little to spend here in japan, you should stay at home sleeping all day, even as therapeutic costs, as example the account of the rent!
I live here, and I know how things work, and now I'm unemployed. I do not care to be unemployed.

Hi.I'm Japanese.

Totaly i think Almost right.

But transportation depends on place for you to go.

Big City like Tokyo,Osaka,Fukuoka,Sapporo are comfortable to transport by train(include subway)

But Other city like Kyoto,Nara,Sendai and so on are not so comfortable.

If you decide the city you want to go, pls reserch about it.

Japan is very clearn and safety Country.

pls come here.and enjoy traveling.

I live in Osaka . I had been lived in Hokkaido for 3 years.

Both is Nice City.

Japan is not that expensive. You can get a JR rail pass to get around the country. There are plenty of cheap places to eat simple food like donburi, raamen, kareeraisu etc. which is generally what Japanese people eat at lunch or after work. Hotels are a bit trickier but there are some youth hostels, ryokan can be cheap, and if there are two of you, a small business hotel near a major station can work too. Then there is the capsle hotel, mostly for guys, which is the cheapest of them all.

@Pablo...weather at the end of September is brilliant...probably the best time of year, especially in the mountains.

Cheers and Good Luck
