A pen pal asked me about the accuracy of this tip and I sent him I opinion about that . Then He Also asked me to send my text to this site SO the Other People from the other counties could have a little more Information … (I am A real Iranian Also A Muslim)
I made a little edit … Here it is:
We are Not Arabs so most of the statements are false.
I Read the tips About Iran and Muslim Countries, Honestly Some Of them Are Overstating.
But The Situation depends on the City of/and the Country you want to Travel.
Some of the old and little cities (they are more like villages) are like Arab countries Of course Because Of the Religion. It has been given by ARAB countries. (BY force in a war called Ghadesyyeh)
Also some religious cities are similar to Arab countries (They Even Do Not Speak Persian (farsi))
like These cities: Mashhad , Ghom (Qom) .
Melissa Vinitsky says, "With Muslim women largely behind the scenes and out of reach, a foreign woman, even modestly dressed, stands out like a bikini-clad girl skiing down the slopes in mid-winter.
Yes it is true, Muslim Arab women are so overcast and it is the culture of Arab Counties, but Iran Is Not a Arab Country. It is Only a Muslim Country; the governor is forcing people to veil the girls and women.
You know the governor is a religious Governor!
Where do you want to travel? I mean it is more important: To Which City of Iran you have planning / planned to travel?
I would motion Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz...
Especially Shiraz and my city Isfahan (Esfahan Is the correct pronunciation).
Ooooh the Important Thing Is that Melissa Vinisky Is Right about the sentence: “On top of that, many Arab men, influenced by American movies and TV, subscribe to the common belief that western women are 'easy.' ”
I think it’s shameful for me to say that’s right … But it is right.(also my must say that the Iranian people are not the only county that think So , and it’s because of Hollywood I Think ! )
Anyway it is not that loud! (She’s overstating).
I hope you understand what I have written. (My English is not good enough…). |

I can say all of this is true.Although we are muslims, our culture and tradition differ from arab muslims. It is also true that there are some differences in women's dressings in every city.I was in Tehran a couple of weeks a go and there was this girl behind the wheels with her scarf down on her shoulder and when she saw the police standing a few feet away she covered her head with the scarf. But you know even if she didn't the police would have just told her to put it on and nothing else would have happened.the thing is in a city like Tehran no one would notice if women go a bit beyond their limits(i mean in dressing lol).It mostly depends on the history and the background of every city.usually the smaller the city is the more strict the dressing is.And there are exceptions of course, like my town which is a small town surrounded by two rivers and womens dressing are somehow similar to those in Tehran. In general all your girlfriend needs to do is to cover her hair with a scarf or anything she likes(if she does lol) and to put on a dress with long sleeves and the dress should be long enough to cover at least the pelvis area.(pants alone won't be enough).since its winter here something like a jacket or an overcoat will suffice. that's all.The good thing is people are tourist-friendly here in most cities so I don't really believe that you will face any trouble here.
have a nice trip (if there is any) |
