GUYANA TRAVEL TIPS

Guyana means "Land of many waters" this is an Amerindian word. The country can be characterized by its vast rain forests dissected by numerous rivers, creeks and waterfalls, notably Kaieteur Falls on the Potaro River.

It is true that Guyana is a Land of many waters. On the question of suggestions of possible places to visite in Guyana well that will depend on you, at present we are preparing for our Republic Celebrations that is on February 23.
Guyana is a land of six ethnic groups and because of this our foods are a variety, from the Africans you have cook-up etc., Indians - roti, curry chicken etc, Amerindians - pepper pot, cassave bread, etc. and I can go on and on. For more information on Guyana I would like to refer you to the site http://www.guyana.org/ that would answer some if not all of your questions.

Guyana is the only English speaking country in South America. Culturally it is more aligned to the Caribbean Islands such as Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and other English speaking islands in the Caribbean.

The country lies on the northern coast of South America and its neighbours are Venezuela to the west, Suriname to the East and Brazil to the South.

Most of the coastal region lies below sea level and the sea is kept out by sea walls originally constructed by the Dutch who were once the rulers of the land.

Most of the population reside on a thin strip of coastline and Georgetown the capital can be found there.

The real beauty of the land can be seen in the interior where vast rainforests, rivers, mountains and savannahs teeming with exotic wildlife lie waiting to be explored and enjoyed.

Guyana is the land of many waters..we have immaculate rain forests, flora and fauna (thtz if ur into eco-tourism.) We have beautiful Savannah n mountain ranges; not forgetting our many waterfalls, Keiteur Falls, the most popular. We r the only English speaking country in South America. Having 6 races, Guyana is multi-cultural country: we have different dishes, many festivals affiliated to each race, food etc.) We have a pretty good night life mixed with alluring musics.

We have marvelous colonial architecture and religious architecture.

Come and enjoy an experience like never before
