Have a look in my personal croatian weblog, and you will understand why I, being a dutchman love to spend my days in Croatia.
Enjoy the sea and the old cities, but do go into the country, in and behind the mountains.

just entered another one, Summitpost.org for those who look for excellent info on many hikes.
and believe me, its fantastic to drink an espresso between palms at the adriatic in the early morning, than go for a climb or hike and finish your day swimming into the evening before the beer starts flowing. |
