| With a $1.9-billion-a-year tourism industry, Costa Rica stands as the most visited nation in the Central American region, with 1.9 million foreign visitors in 2007, which translates into a relatively high expenditure per tourist of $1000 per trip.

The best beaches are in Guanacaste, which is in the northern pacific province of the country. But also, in the central pacific you can go to Manuel Antonio beach which is very beautiful, and its close to the capital city, San Jose, or also in the Caribbean to Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo. |

Hello...well for me the best beaches are in Guanacaste, you can arrive there from San José by bus or by plane.Tamarindo, Playa Langosta or Conchal are some of the best.
If you wanna see something different, you can visit the cloud forest in Monteverde, the Tortuguero National Park...Hope you guys enjoy your visit to my country :) |

I do agree with the article especially about safety and understanding. I personally live in CR and I love it here. The most beautiful beaches in CR are located in the Guanacaste Area " such as: Rincon de la Vieja Area , North Pacific Coast (w/ Tamarindo Area),North Pacific Coast (w/ Tamarindo Area) , Playa Avallana Beach and so forth. The exchange rate in CR is 540 colones per $1.00 |
