30 Things To Do When Visiting Santiago, Chile
Submitted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19 14:43:51 (via www.santiagotourist.com)
Santiago has so many sights and activities worth seeing and doing that it's hard to limit the recommendations to only 30 items. I first got the idea to make this list for Santiago after reading Jeff Barry’s great article, 30 things to do when visiting Buenos Aires. So here’s my list of things to do in Santiago, Chile.

Does anyone have a suggestion for the best way to travel from Santiago airport to Puerto Plata? What would a taxi charge?

Hi all, can anyone suggest a great place outside of Santiago for novice skiers to ski for half-full day?

Hi Maximus, there are several places to practice skiing near Santiago (25 miles away App.) for novice and advanced people -Valle Nevado, La parva, Farellones, you can also rent equipment over there and you can easily find cheap transportation to get there..

Have a great time if you decide to come over here.. snow season starts in the end of May.

ia good that someone asked me what I would say that as well santiago chile itself has much to see. as much as crodillera where ahy varied ski resorts
southern santiago asi ahy too many places
parks are also good museums and cultural sites of great quantities as to give a smooth ride at night pubs, discos, etc.
I hope they finally draw the attention and information as if they come to chile come and then they get from the south going to love

i live in Santiago -Chile. Santiago is a big city.. about 6 milion people live here.. i would say about 7 or 8. anyways. you need information on hotels? or do you want places to visit? or are you looking for extreme urban tour?

If you stay in Santiago.. then i would sugest visiting:

1.- Cerro San Cristobal

2.- Cerro Santa Lucia (Cerrro Huelén)

3.- Colorado/ la parva Ski center

4.- Downtown

5.- Barrio Bellavista

6.- Barrio Suecia

7.- Estadio Nacional(National stadium)

8.- La Moneda (state house)

9.- Barrio Brasil

10.- Parque Bustamante

11.- Museo Bellas Artes

12.- malls: alto las condes, del centro, parque arauco, apumanque..etc..

if you travel 1hour and a half towards the west... you have Viña del Mar, and Valparaiso; humanitys patrimony area by the sea.

and many others.. if you need a guide or more information, just let me know. ive travelled all over Chile, except the last city down south.. Punta Arenas.

greetings,
-diego

Well i know...There is little information about Chile,in special of Santiago, here have a many parks, and center of market, here i put the page about this http://www.turismochile.com/guia/santiago_y_alrededores/ and also recommend the coast is the most near as stated diego.

There are also small towns to the outskirts of Santiago, for example, Melipilla, Buin, rancagua, etc ... to go to these sides can take a subway train leaving the station, a pretty busy sector and trade fairly From there, buses also depart to the north, and 10 more blocks to the coast is the terminal to go south, everything is pretty close, i hope you can visit my country, if you have a more time and money you go to the south is absolutely recommendable, but more in summer, in winter go to the north!

I hope you can help I just said!
take care...
greetings from Chile,
Su
