Amazing Bahamas!
Submitted by Olivia on 2008-09-24 03:54:07 (via www.geographia.com)
Some settlements have festivals associated with the traditional crop or food of that area, such as the "Pineapple Fest" in Gregory Town, Eleuthera or the "Crab Fest" on Andros. Other significant traditions include story telling.

I think its direct-like someone mention it should talk about more local places like for e.g fish fry, hard rock cafe atlantis, marina village the cricket club, and if some of you people of the states or where ever its highly recommended for you to have sunscreen or if planning to go to the outter island please it your off spray-and a another somethings here are a bit pricey-so if having to get any basic products please buy them from your home-and Nassau Bahamas is a beautiful place,to relax and enjoy if you have any other concern email be at beautifulprincess82@hotmail.com

I live in Abaco, on Green Turtle Cay and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If you are thinking of visiting Nassau, it's beautiful, my husband and I actually went to Atlantis on our honeymoon 7 years ago. It's a great place for a vacation. It can be pretty expensive though. Where I live is a very small place, only a couple hundred people live here, it's pretty quiet but we have beautiful beaches. You can stay in a resort or you can rent a home and have it all to your self. It all depends what you are looking for. We have our Island Roots Festival in May and we have Junkanoo on New Years Day.

I live on andros as well. Its a family island very quiet.. not much to do compared to nausau. i pretty much stay in the fresh creek area of central andros.. a few good spots to eat.. "hanks" (my favorite) "taste and see" near love hill and a new one near the fresh creek traffic circle. Small Hope bay is a very cool and quiet place to stay.. if you dive, bone fish, or want a quiet friendly place to hang out.. andros is for you..

Well that article generally spoke about like things you need to know when travelling to the bahamas..and all of that is pretty much accurate. Really some of the biggest events depends on what time of season you go. Also..It doesnt matter WHEN you go..it will Always be hot (probably something to do with global warming) It may get cool occassionally in the evening..but it will generally be HOT..and in the summer Unbearably HOTT.
But if you travel to the Bahamas during the winter. You want to check out Junkanoo, its similar to carnival that they have in Trinidad. Its usually pretty fun and it occurs downtown on Christmas night into the morning after, and on New Yrs eve into New Yrs morning. Things you can go to that are there year round would be the straw market downtown, BlackBeards Cay is nice. You have to take a boat there. Also Dolphin Encounters where you can swim with the dolphins.
As mentioned earlier, there is also Fish Fry where you can get some of the best Bahamian food and interact with all of the locals. There are also day excursions you can go on to other islands such as Harbour Island and also snorkeling in the middle of the ocean. If you go during the summer, you want to go to Junkanoo in June which takes place at fish fry on the weekends. It is a mini version of Junkanoo that occurs during the winter, only its like a festival atmosphere with performers on the stage And lots of vendors with food and a kids play section.
