Then start to explore the real NZ country and coastal roads around the region. Instead of paying high charges at hotels or staying in cheap backpackers why not stay in a typical New Zealand holiday home (bach). This is a great article on typical baches in New Zealand with links to booking agencies. Even if you are not planning a trip to NZ its still worth knowing.

hey, i never been here but i know lots of people who have, its not too far from me.they seem to be really popular and if you do decide to come to New Zealand come in the summer because we have a lot of rain and cold crappy weather in the colder months but our summer is just awesome:)
