You should visit the cementery of Recoleta, it´s like a city of the dead, with little narrow streets. Plaza Serrano and the neighbourhood of San Telmo are attractive places with small shops by independent designers and bars were you can have a drink and eat. Beware, it can be really crowded in the weekends.
If you have the chance and the weather allows it, the river Tigre is really nice, you can take the bus boat (a train can take you to where it departs) and have a meal in one of the many islands.
The night scene is very active and you´ll find places that are open till 6am every day, except for Sunday and Monday night. During the summer discos will be open till 7am or 8am, and some even till 11am.
If you want to buy stuff the streets Cabildo, Santa Fe and Corrientes are the places to go.

As for traditional food, you´ve got milanensas, empanadas (with a variety of fillings) and, of course, asado, the way in which we traditionally eat meat.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON A BOCA JUNIORS MATCH.PURE PASSION AND PRIDE! VISIT TIGRE, SAN TELMO, RECOLETA, PALERMO (HAS A COOL ZOO) AND OF COURSE CAPITAL FEDERAL! BUT ALL YOU MEN OUT THERE DO N-O-T STOP FOR GUYS GIVING YOU LITTLE BUSINESS CARDS.THEY'RE PART OF PROSTITUTE JOINTS AND THEY END UP DRAGGING U ALONG AND TRYING TO GET MONEY OUT OF YOU! AS FOR THE FOOD QUESTION, MY GOD, IVE NEVER BEEN SO WELL FED IN MY LIFE! MILANESAS, MATAMBRE, MORCILLA, MEMBRILLO, ALFAJORES, DULCE DE LECHE, EMPANADAS JUST TO NAME A FEW! I CANT GET ENOUGH OF THE ARGENTINIAN TASTES!

WHEN YOU'RE TAKING MONEY FROM THE BANK MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS USE AN INDOOR MACHINE, AND STASH ALL YOUR MONEY AWAY BEFORE EXITING THE BUILDING,DONT WALK OUT WITH MONEY HANGING OUT YOUR MOUTH ETC.EASY TARGET.

AS FOR THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT.YOU'RE FINE TO BE USING IT BEFORE DARK,BUT AFTER DARK IT CAN BE A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE.THE YOUNG PPL WHO PUT THINGS ON YOUR KNEE IN THE SUBTE (UNDERGROUND)ARE LOOKING TO SELL THE ITEMS.IF THEY INTEREST YOU, THE CUSTOM IS THAT YOU REMOVE THE ITEM AND REPLACE IT WITH MONEY.DONT BE FOOLED BY THE HOMELESS CHILDREN IN THE STREET THOUGH,CRYING OR NOT CRYING.THEY'RE HUNGARIAN IMMIGRANTS WHO ARE PUT ON THE STREET AND INJECTED WITH SLEEPING MEDICINE TO MAKE THEM LOOK HALF DEAD,AND OTHERS ARE TRAINED TO CRY ALL THE TIME.ANY MONEY GIVEN TO THEM DOES NOT GO TO THEIR POCKETS,IT GOES IN THE POCKETS OF THE ARSEHOLES WHO ARE USING THEM AS SLAVES. ENJOY ARGENTINA! ENJOY BUENOS AIRES! IT HAS ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING TO OFFER.YOU JUST NEED TO BE A BIT SENSIBLE ON THE STREETS!!ANY MORE QUESTIONS, IM ALL EARS!!

I think there are many nice places near Buenos Aires...the only thing is that you might have to take a long distance bus or a plane in case you want to go there faster... All the same, Buenos Aires is quite a big city and there are lots of things to do here, besides the traditional tourist circuit. For example, you can go to several music shows, theatres, museums, restaurants, shopping centres and most of them are open everyday up to very long hours. As for food, you have plenty of "typical argentine" restaurants. As there are different neighborhoods, the offer is quite wide...You must try it!!!!
